NETI bij chronische sinusitis beter dan neusspray!

Beide behandelingen moesten lang volgehouden worden, gedurende 8 weken en twee maal per dag sprayen of spoelen. [1]
To our knowledge, this is the first randomized controlled trial showing greater efficacy of saline irrigation vs saline spray for providing short-term (8 week) relief for chronic nasal symptoms.
The result demonstrated substantially greater benefit with irrigation than with spray, both in terms of sympt om severi t y (SNOT- 20) and symptom frequency.
The irrigation group achieved a clinically significant improvement in quality of life as measured by the SNOT-20 instrument, whereas the spray group did not. Furthermore, the irrigation group experienced 50% lower odds of frequent nasal symptoms compared with the spray group.
