Homeopathie tijdschrift in pubmed

Het homeopatische tijdschrift "Homeopathy" is opgenomen in pubmed. Diverse artikelen zijn nu makkelijker zoekbaar voor het grote publiek. Een voorbeeld. In 2008 publiceerden Braziliaanse onderzoekers hoe de opvattingen van patienten die bij de homeopaat kwamen waren. Ze vonden daarbij dat de band tussen de homeopaat en de patient erg belangrijk was.

In de woorden van de onderzoekers [1]:

Dissatisfaction with conventional treatment, family influence and suggestions of others were the reasons for seeking homeopathic treatment.

Patients continued homeopathic treatment due to positive therapeutic results, cure without being aggressive to the organism, the holistic integrated approach, the preventive nature of the treatment and low prices of medicine.

For these patients, the availability of homeopathy in the public health sector extends the possibility of access. The need for a wider dissemination of homeopathy and the difficulties in following the prescription are the main problems involved in continuing treatment.

Faith is an important component.

We found a correlation between the conceptions of health and illness and the principles of homeopathy, assimilated through a strong bond between patients and the homeopathic practitioners.

Uit eerder onderzoek kwamen vergelijkbare resultaten[2]:

Putative active ingredients included the patients’ "openness to the mind-body connection", consultational empathy, in-depth enquiry into bodily complaints, disclosure, the remedy matching process and, potentially, the homeopathic remedies themselves.

We weten inmiddels dat een vriendelijke arts meer bewerkt bij patienten dan een stugge arts. Daarmee zullen de meeste van de homeopatische artsen dus wel vriendelijk zijn…!

De tijdschriften in pubmed over homeopathie bevatten helaas niet vaak een abstract.[3]
